Last week in Paris

Judith, a Dutch girl living near Paris shares my love for concept store MERCI and sent me some pictures she made last week while visiting the store. The interior changes often and this time a huge palm tree dominates the entry. Outside as always... the little red fiat 500 this time being the decor for a photoshoot for a Japanese children fashion magazine. Adding a French touch {DIY for your bedroom or garden}

 

I added this picture from Hotel Deseo in Mexico on my Facebook page yesterday, I thought this was such a beautiful way to get some shadow and making a cozy corner in your garden.

But it would also be easy to do at home. By using some rope and bamboo, or even by making a bamboo frame only and attach it to the ceiling on four points. Last years summer I made some pictures of an installation like that at MERCI. Hope it will give you some inspiration on how to make something like this for your own home or garden.

A message from my Parisian reporter

After having seen the limited edition Paola Navone designed for MERCI in their Pop up Store in Milan I was wondering how it would look in the MERCI concept store in Paris itself...

Now I am lucky enough to have a blog friend from the early years I was blogging who lives right around the corner! I follow his blog, where he shows the everyday walks he and his cute little dog make through the city of Paris. So I thought I just ask him to bring his camera when he pop in the store for his daily coffeebreak! Thank you Christian for being my Parisian reporter today ;)

MERCI Pop Up Store - Salone 2012 {Paola Navona limited edition for MERCI}

Being a big fan of the MERCI Concept Store in Paris, my heart made a little jump seeing a little red fiat cinquecento in front of Studio Otto di Paola Navone. And it even got better!

Ofcourse seeing a MERCI Pop up Store in Via Tortona during the Salone is like a big and pleasant surprise to me but having one of my favorite designers making a limited Edition especially for MERCI and show it here at Studio Otto was really great.

I loved the mono graphic design of the outdoor - indoor furniture in front of the studio... Lots of dots and stripes and  soft cushions. And inside there was even more, a whole collection of tableware, clothes, buttons,masking tape, little baskets and suitcases ...all in black and white and especially made for MERCI by Paola Navone. And of course there was also a mini MERCI inside!

I can truly say this was one of the highlights for me during the Salone 2012. To bad to see I had written the opening party of the Pop up store in my agenda when I got home.... I better not hear I missed meeting Paola Navone in person...

Enjoy the pictures and forgive me for making such a long post.. I thought it was just way to cool and despite all the beautiful design I finally found some new ideas and inspiration there! I brought home some little things of the limited edition... and would love to get one of the chairs...Mmmm I just might need to go to Paris really soon!

simple + beautiful

I am sorting out about 200 pictures for the blog.... what to keep , what to post and what to throw away... I am loving this picture made in the MERCI Pop up store in Milan .. definitely a picture to keep... and an awesome lamp.
