Before going to Milan I had a look at the website and I did not really know what to expect after reading the text and looking at the few pictures.... what I found was a bit of a surreal world... I am showing some of my pictures in the same way as we walked around in Spazio Rossana Orlandi.... as you see the two huge fences are open and it is the lady herself standing in the entrance of the garden as we arrived. In the garden there is a restaurant and several designers were showing there work...
Throughout the whole space there are all kind of 'installations' build with both new material and recycled materials mixed with all kind of furniture.
At the end of the garden we found Rossana again standing in front of a huge installation with copper wire and vases. I was reading the blog of Lotta Agaton the other day and she wrote about the Salone in Milan ...
I know you shouldn't talk about the female age, but I just came back from the furniturefair in Milan and realized that the coolest cats in town who rules during designweek are all women around seventy years old. That is so great. Love Rossana Orlandi, Carla Sozzani (founder of Corso Como 10) and Paola Navone.
And I couldn't agree more I think she is so right about these woman !!!
....upstairs.... a huge space with walls covered with brown boxes filled with thousands of different items that were not for sale, I was wondering if it was a leftover from the tie factory or a huge collection of Rossana herself.
